Installing Fonts to Your Computer
Once you've downloaded your font, unzipped it, and placed it in a folder in your "My Documents" area, you need to intall it to your computer Fonts Folder, so here's what to do next.
Installing Fonts on Windows XP or earlier systems
Click through the following steps:
Start >
Control Panel >
Fonts Folder >
File >
Install New Font
Now, on the Add Fonts window that comes up, go to the box on the bottom left that says Folders: C:\. The first folder in that box should be the one with C:\ beside it.
Then double click through to the folder on your computer where you have the new font file(s).
The steps will probably be something like this:
Folder C:\ >
Documents & Settings >
Your personal folder or the all users folder >
My Documents >
The folder where you placed the font file(s).
Once you click on that folder, the fonts you have there will appear in the upper left box of the window, marked List of Fonts.
Click once on the font you want to install, to highlight it.
To the bottom right of the "Folders" box is a small checkbox that says "Copy Fonts to Fonts Folder" Click on that box to check it off.
Then click "Okay" on the top right.
Installing Fonts on Windows Vista
Open the folder into which you have placed the unzipped font file.
Then go to:
Control Panel >
Appearance and Personalization >
Fonts >
Then drag the font file you want into the fonts folder.
Installing Fonts on MacOSX
After you have downloaded the .zip file you want:
Double click on the downloaded folder >
Double click on the folder of the font you wish to install. >
Double click on the font file (the FontBook window should appear) >
> Click on the Install Font button.
Please note that not all fonts will work with MacOSX. If the font doesn't work after installing it, first try restarting your MacOSX. If that doesn't work, then that font may just not work with the MacOSX.
And that should install the font to your computer. Now just go to your documents, look for the font in your fonts list and go to it. Have fun!
