About Dancing Pen Calligraphy and its Founder

Hi. My name is Evelyn Grace Marinoski and I’d like to welcome you to this website. I hope you’ve already had the opportunity to explore lots of things here, and that you’ve found at least some of it useful and interesting.

I took my first calligraphy class in the early 1990’s and was very blessed to have Betty Locke as my instructor. She taught a very thorough class – and a very enjoyable one.

In past years I’ve been involved either as member, student, or instructor with the Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild in Calgary, with The Edmonton Calligraphic Society and with The Lettering Arts Guild in Red Deer – all in Alberta, Canada.

I have taken numerous other classes in the years since. I have been lucky enough to get in on classes with Sheila Waters and Peter Thornton, to name a few.

It had also been my pleasure to teach a variety of calligraphy classes over the years. I really enjoy sharing my love of letters with others and I especially enjoy seeing people who come to the class doubting that they can do this, discover that in fact they can – usually far better than they would have thought.

For the past number of years I have been focused more on business projects, including designing websites and marketing. Wanting to combine my love of things creative with my business experience lead me to do some research on calligraphy information on the internet. I felt there was room for a website that focused on providing quality information and products about calligraphy for those who want to learn, use and enjoy this wonderful “art of beautiful writing”.

While I will be sharing lots of my own knowledge and discoveries about calligraphy, I would very much like to see others become part of this too. If you have something you would like to contribute, questions you would like to ask, products you would like to sell here, check out the ???? page for details. Or if you know of someone whose work or products you’d like to see here, let me know that too.

I hope you enjoy this website. I also hope that you will feel free to let me know what else you would like to see here, and what else would help to make this a great experience for you.

To joy in your writing,

Evelyn Grace Marinoski

P.S. Following are some calligraphy pieces that I have done over the years.
