February Updates

Hi everybody,

Sorry I missed the past two weeks – some unexpected things came up, including that I got laid off from my job because of changes going on. That has certainly added some complications to my life which I wasn’t planning on, but it now means that I will have more time to do things with DPC – and I’m happy for that.

Just a reminder though that I will still have to move sometime in the next six weeks, and I still have lots of packing to do, so things may be rather hit and miss with the blogposts and e-mails over the next two months or so.

I wanted to start including some other posts as I had time and as I found things that I thought would be interesting or inspiring for you. These are posts that will be found on the DPC blog, but they will not be sent out as e-mails. So I will include links for them in the e-mail post. Here’s some for this week:

Book – The Art of Calligraphy
Video – The Making of Manuscripts

Enjoy!

  1. Similar to you, I had lost a client that I’ve had for awhile (I’m an in-home caregiver for an agency), which made me without work for awhile. During my unemployed time, and since then I was home all the time, I decided to pick up drawing and my interest in calligraphy again. I believe when we have the freedom to do what we want, we do what is natural. Good luck and stay positive in your move and new job.

    1. Yes, keeping a positive attitude is really important. I do trust that things will work out – just wish sometimes the process was a bit easier , eh? 🙂
Oh well, it does mean I do get to work more on DPC, and that’s good!

  3. Loved the Making a Manuscript video. thank you for sharing. It is something I have always wanted to do. I am getting close to filling up my current journal and my wife told me we better get another one, I told her I think I will make my own. It wont be like in the video, but I love the idea of making my own stuff and what better stuff to make than a book, eh? thanks and I love your website here. Good luck on the job thing.

    1. I’m glad you liked the Manuscript video. Good on you for wanting to make your own journal! I think you’ll enjoy it. Bookbinding is a lot of fun and it is one of the things I want to include as projects on this website at some point because it is so closely linked with calligraphy.
