The Saint John's Bible
In 1998 the Saint John's Abbey & University in Minnesota, USA, commissioned the well-known calligraphy master Donald Jackson to create a handwritten and illuminated Bible. This is the first handwritten calligraphy Bible to be produced in hundreds of years. Small wonder, considering that the cost of this one is somewhere in the neighborhood of $4 million dollars, if memory serves me correctly.
